Was Jesus homeless, a refugee, or financially destitute? Social justice elites claim He was all three, but last time we learned He was neither homeless nor a refugee. The idea that He was dirt poor also is wrong. Jesus was a carpenter. Moreover, Luke 8:1-3 speaks of “many” women “who provided for Him from their substance.” He likely benefitted from gifts given by men as well.
Jesus related to the outcasts of His day and invited them to become His followers, but He did not have to be homeless, or a refugee, or bankrupt to connect with them. Woke elites are trying to use Jesus to promote a social justice agenda, and these groups are deemed oppressed in the social justice narrative. They may be oppressed; but if they are, it isn’t simply because the social justice narrative says they are.
Jesus opposed oppression but did not advocate government-orchestrated redistribution of wealth as a solution. His primary mission was spiritual — to “seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10).
